Music was great! There are a lot of beautiful qualities to the song. It was basically done in two days. I wish u had more time. More work on it and could have be even better. Clean up a couple vocals. Little tweaks and would love it more! Im sure others would too.

I wanted to love this song. Loved the verse about the lake and sledding and the verse with Randy’s ribs. I love the part about building homes and memories. Awesome.

However, the vibe of the song is so wrong for dad. It’s melancholy.That’s not dad. I know it has to be very hard to write about someone you don’t know. That’s why I thought the more I wrote, the more you’d get a feel for who dad is- full of life, funny, fun to be with, happy, young at heart, someone everyone loves, always making people laugh. Laughing until he turns purple, body shaking but not making sound.

I wanted this to be a fun song, full of happy memories, but with more to come, but it feels sad. (“80 years and you’re still here”; ugh..(and) “here’s to all the time we got to spend together.; enjoying the ride.”) It sounds more like an end of life, goodbye song rather than about all the fun times we’ve had and STILL have ahead. He might be 80, but seems more like 65, still going strong - so much life in him. A couple of the vs are not accurate. It’s not his grin he’s known for, it’s his laugh…and it’s never in short supply. Maybe the chores should have been more about his personality or him being the guy I go to for advice or a laugh, the close bond we have, or my best bud, than the breezes and Limburger cheeses. I don’t know.

Again, has to be really hard to write for strangers. Thanks for a great attempt. I just don’t know if I can give this to him. Feels wrong.
