Bio:
Based near Manchester, England, Matt Skidmore is a versatile indie artist, who began playing in indie pop, punk, and metal bands at around age 15. In 2013, he graduated from the University of Salford, with a degree in Popular Music and Recording, focusing mainly on Composition and Production. In 2018, he completed a '52 Song Challenge' for charity, writing and recording one song every week for the whole year, which raised £2,500 for the Motor Neurone Disease (ALS) Association. He says he enjoyed writing for Songlorious because of the value it brings to people. “Be able to write a song that could help with [a tragic situation] even a tiny bit, was the most valuable thing I’ve done musically and in working life generally.” His biggest musical inspirations are Blink-182, Motion City Soundtrack, and Say Anything.
