Bio:
Ivy Roots, an R&B artist based in Austin, TX, studied audio engineering at Kansas City Kansas Community College. She has used her knowledge from the technical program to release three self-produced albums, and start her publishing company Ivy Roots Music LLC. Her sound has been described as "serene, soulful and eclectic," inspired by acoustic pop and classic R&B/soul. She cites Lauryn Hill, India Arie, and Solange as major influences on her work. In the live music scene, Ivy Roots has shared festival stages with Fitz and the Tantrums, and Young the Giant. She was featured on Volcom (Red) as a Fem Portrait, during Austin's SXSW festival.

By an objective measure, the artist was fine, and the song had no technical issue. But I very much don't like the way the song came out. I had a vision in mind. I came with my own fully written lyrics, and I had a composition in mind as well. I assumed I'd be able to provide guidance in how it was sung and created. I was only given the chance to hear it once it was a finished product, and I wasn't allowed to make any changes. That was a lot of money spent on something that will not be able to serve it's intended purpose.
